2003

From Policy Into Action: Implementation Research and Welfare Reform

M.C. Lennon & T. Corbett, Eds.

The following abstract is taken from the Urban Institute Press.

This chapter describes the use of administrative data in the context of welfare reform for the purposes of researchers examining the implementation and process of reform. After defining administrative data in greater detail, the author discusses both the promise the administrative data offer for research and how far one may go with such data. The chapter also discusses the quality of administrative data and the obstacles a researcher may experience in using such data.
